If you have an offshore clamp more than likely you have a broken upper pin

When going over my mids and offshore clamps they appeared to have a little slop in the upper ram pivot . Upon removal of the offshore clamp on both mids I was amazed on how mercury designed the upper pivot . What they did was drill a locater hole in upper pin so that the electric senders would operate and this is where they snap . Well I wanted to take care of this problem and also remove those silly tilt levers that belong on a 25 hp not a big OB . I came up with a kit that includes a solid upper stainless pin and stainless block-off plates to rid my offshore clamp of those super ugly swing out levers .
