No "can" or a tuner or keep it stock.??

95 mariner 200 efi slight mods- the "can" (that thing in the mid section) is out and the flat edge on the bottom of the mid section is drilled with five holes on each side. Would it be better for me to get a "tuner" for it or put the stock one back in it or leave it without anything in there. Which way will make it run the best it can.

Just keep your stock tuner unless your makin serious horsepower and just leave the can out unless you want to quiet it down some.

I thought the can and the tuner were the same thing. That thing in the midsection that was about 14 inches long and covered in black smoot. The stock one is long and a tuner is a shorter custom one?
