    Ebko Stinger Rebuild Thread

Some of you may remember the debate on whether I'd need to re-core my Ebko or not - well she's rotted at the transom and in a lot of other places. So that means another rebuild thread for you guys to be entertained with!

In trade for me entertaining you I'll be asking for advise here and there.

Today I pulled the rub rail and transom cap. IT was a giant pain and I'm still working on removing the old phillips head screws holding the cap and hull together.

It's super wet and rotted in there.

In addition to rivets there are nails holding in the transom! Not sure what that is all about.

As always you can check out the full write up over on my blog.

    Separation

Screws removed after grinding off heads and punching them through to the inside. Fiberglass strip holding the cap and hull together ground out.

Cap is now resting on saw horses. Hull is waiting for the grinder.

Looks great! Are you using epoxy resin or poly? Just curious.

Going to lay down 1708 over the whole thing once the core is all in.

Hey my photos are back. Just in time. I’ve pulled all the rigging and motor off the boat for a wrap job over the winter. Also on the hunt for a new motor.

    Lol. You are right.

Well, I have everything lined up and ready. I bought a temp garage to put up over the hull. Problem is it has been cold as heck and wind ripping trough these parts since the beginning of December. I think there will be some progress over the next couple of weeks. Doesn’t help that 8000 people just got laid off at the company I work for and I somehow just escaped being cut. I’m trying to circle the wagons and make sure I can hang on to what I have.

    Strange days.
