    Hi guys - need help and advice - Live in South Africa and have limited access to all the fancy stuff - My Ranger Z520 has a Yammaha vmax 250 sho on and have a very poor hole shot - I have seen that FOXLAKE-H.O.Wolverine & DarthVMAX and other are saying that perhaps the ECU or EMM modded can make the 250 SHO into a 300 SHO. I have a standard unit not a salt water unit.How do I get into contact with Wayne Worthy. I need to get more HP out of my SHO - how ?

    Wayne Worthy you will find at Hydrotec. Their is a link to the website on my links page (see below).

    However, I doubt that a 300 ECU will solve your problem unless your current 250 ECU is bad.

    The SHO should have very strong bottom-end, so I would suggest looking at your propeller and other aspects of set-up.

    Internal parts comparison;
    Has anyone studied part numbers to determine that the 4.2L 200/225/250 all use the same Cam's, Pistons, heads, intakes etc which would substantiate that 'chip' tuning really is as effective as it is said to be.
    I am SERIOUSLY looking to buy a 200 (or225/250), but want to be certain that I could count on the upgrade being effective.

    all internals are the same, hp comes from throttle body opening and injector controls in the ecu.

    The 200hp SHO is $2400 less than the 250hp. I went through all the parts numbers and everything is the same except the ECM. Looks like I will be buying the 200hp and save 2k.
