Para-lift
I've got a friend who is thinking of selling me his Para-lift. The problem I'm running into is it's rated for 500lbs. I've got a Suzuki DF250 that weighs in at 580lbs. Any thoughts if the Paralift can handle the extra weight or if anyone made a kit to allow them to handle more weight?

I have had two and am using one now. I don't think that would be smart, they started life rated for 450lbs and had an upgrade to 500lbs later. The upgrade was pump only, not a beafier frame.

Thats kind of what I figured. I was hoping someone may have figured out what the weak link was and upgraded the unit to hold more weight. O-well, thanks for the info!

We swap out the bolts for Grade 8's. The boat you intend on using it with will also be a big part of the decision. Small and lighter, maybe you get away with it. I am currently running the Paralift with an Ultra 23XS and a 2002 Evinrude 250 DFI. By far the biggest boat and heaviest motor combo I have tried of the three. Time will tell.
