Make sure to get pump 5001595 as it has no bleed hole so it flows a bit more. <-Thanks to Racer^^^

Just solved (finally) an intermittent dropping of cylinders on twin OB Convincor project.
Surfaced on the work stand after replacing complete ignition.
Starboard motor had clean, white spark that you could hear snap, on all 6.
Port motor would go from 6 to 2 to 4 etc.
I spent an entire day trouble shooting, then swapping parts from motor to motor before getting pissed, saying fk this.
The boat wasn’t going to be ready for a couple months anyhow.
So fast forward to first day of water testing.
I do a spark test on that motor expecting to spend the day beating my head against the wall.
Damned if didn’t have great spark on all 6!
So I pull it out of the shop, hook a hose to it and you could hear it dropping cylinders but good enough to see if my science project was even going to work.
Starboard motor ran perfect and pulled to 6200 even w/the port stopping at 5k.
(still good enough for 70 )
I then decide the only thing left is the harness on the motor.
(already swapped ones in boat)
So yesterday I installed the new harness from Pro Marine.
In doing so, a terminal pulled out of one of the two conductor plugs coming from harness!
So in theory, that was the problem all along.
It was visible and looked good in the plug but was making intermittent contact.
Fixed that, installed the new harness and was rewarded w/clean white spark and now easy starting and good idle.
I talk to people all the time that tell me they checked everything, same as I did.
(10 Times!)
We if that’s the case, we (I) missed something.I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.
I refuse to allow common sense to interfere w/my boat buying decisions.

U guys are hillarious/to me looks like both sides a the fence kinda have a point/but I do know instigator knows what he’s taking about when it come to building loopers/sounds like machinest have a point to as far as cutting piston depth for bore n stroke but there’s alotta other things that need to take place as far as port work and different electronics to go from efi to carbs.n make 300-350hp on a 3.0-3.3 ltre.

Glad to hear u got it fixed
Good job/I had a problem with pinched wires in my control box back in the day/lost a powerpack over it/before I finally pinpointed it.
