Have you been to the Allison boards for help?

Bit of a newbie here too, but 2" below is a little much. I'm about 5/8 below to 3/8 above, using the CMC hyd plate at 12" set-back.Last edited by H20WKD; 08-25-2011 at 11:08 AM.

Hey guys,
I have quite a bit of experience running Allisons. I have an XB 2003 with a 225X. I have approximately .060 lip on my boat and run approx 1/2 inch above the pad. I also run a CMC hydraulic plate with 14 1/2 inches of setback.
When you take off, if you don't let off the gas when it comes over they will break lose a little. If you are 2 inches below the pad I would come up to around 3/8 below the pad and start there.
Every boat is different in how the run and their exact setup. When you have the correct motor height and are running 35-40 mph you will be shooting somewhat of a tail. If the boat is setup correctly... when you get on it, it should take 2.5-3 seconds for the tail to lay down to the height of the motor cowl. If it is doing that it is setup correctly.
What motor to you have on the boat and how many rpms are you turning?
