hydrostream venus drain well stress cracking
I have a 89 venus that has a stress crack in the drain well towards the upper lip of the upper deck over the transom but no transome cracks on the hull. This is the port corner fold nearest the transom on upper deck . how should i fix it and should i worry about it?

Transom is flexing. Will most likely need replacement and cosmetic gel repair. Hate to say, but a common problem. Add knee braces when you have it done. I have a Venus too. Going to get a new floor due to wet ski locker wood. I'm sure it will go further than that too.

it is a hydrostream... its gonna need to be done... transom is prob wet(rotten) and if there is any soft spots in the floor prob means the boats rotten unfortunately it is very common with the older hydrostream and its not if but when they will have to be done... in the process of doing my vector...

This year I drilled in two bolts for a step and the wood looked dry and clean.?
the lower transome looks like new . I jumped a very big wake with a couple jet skis and boom the unit doped like a hammer. Im thinking this was what did it but does that mean bad transome or dumb move? I need to repair it anyway so it will be looked at.

A single overstress occurrence could certainly be responsible.

so you mean its possible that the transom eis ok just the one time it took it to hell is why it cracked. anyway this winter im haveing it checked by my fiberglass guy who is going to fix the crack and put in the knee braces .of course checking the transome first.
The boat was repainted about five to six years ago alot of money was put into it seats rug etc. Im guessing transom and floor but no braces only strongback. Just put in new plastics will post pictures. Thanks guys youll see it soon
