    Fuel in Optimax air pump

Just about done rigging the 250XS on my Scarab and I tried cranking up one of the engines. They have been sitting for a while so I wanted to be sure they ran before I continued with the repower.

FYI new plugs, cleaned injectors, new fuel and charged batteries.

After a few turns one of the engines sputtered and would idle but terribly rough then it stalled out and after a few more rough idles it would not start back up.

I tried turning it over a few more times and noticed that some fuel was coming out of the air intake on the air pump. I took the plastic cover off and there was a little bit of fuel coming out of there. So whats wrong with it?

There definately are valves and diaphragms that can go bad but I don't know these engines well enough to diagnose the exact problem. SO I was hoping someone who has more optimax experience would chime in. Its my first DFI engines.

Check the tracker valve on the stbd side fuel rail. It's a guess as the pump should overcome any fuel pressure even if it were bad.

Swapped fuel rails with another engine and its fine now, so it was one of the valves.
