    175 Mariner 2.5..wierd

I just bought a 175 mariner says oil injection on the cover. The block is stamped 88 (1988). It has the clamshell cover. The heads look like 2.5 heads. I also have a 83 2.4 200 and the heads are different. I was wondering if this could be an early 2.5??

Later model 2.4's had 1 piece heads, look similar to the 2.5 heads.

Here is some pictures. 2.4 L?? Seems to be a real clean motor, it was on a wrecked vegas skier that was totaled and sold at an insurance auction.

What maintenance should I do besides water pump and clean carbs?

Should/can I just pre mix the gas to bipass the oil injection?

    Thanks guys

2.4L definitely, I thought 87 was the last year for that style cowl and 16 amp charging. Definitely loose the Oil injection.

Why not just leave the oil tank and components in place and just mix the gas?

Why do you have to remove and fill with epoxy?
