What is Max Rpm on an '01 2.5 200 EFI w/ stock ECU

Can anyone tell me the the max rpm allowed on a '01 2.5l 200 EFI with a Stock ECU.... Thinking about dropping prop pitch due to the 3200 rpm hesitation... I just don't want to be above the RPM the stock ECU will allow on top end.

Jimmy has spun his 7800 with the stock ecu on his action, so I think you'll be ok. It's a 2.5 - they love the R's!

Gotta ask. Just courious? Do you get on tha trim before or after tha nose breaks over?

tlwjkw,, I've done both, same issue... If loaded heavy (water, fuel, fishing partner), I don't start triming up until the nose starts to drop and "break over" a significant amount. If light (25 gal fuel and I), I will start to trim the minute the nose starts dropping.

    Texas20225,, CDM's....

If you haven't, ck out my other post, same heading with the words, Lays down at 3200 Rpm, added....

i have not seen any rpms like what these guys are saying out of a 200 EFI with a 40 amp system pulling a A32 box 6900 is Pmax rpms and 7800 has to be 16 amp charging system i would think but im no racer just a fishin motor builder i know some big speeds are being accomplished by Mach 351 and Erik

Wasn't me, but my buddy Jimmy. I'm pretty sure he spun it that high with the 40amp system, complete with CDM's, but would have to check with him to be sure. The motor does have coils and a 16amp system now. Remember these are very long runs (2-3 miles) with the motor as high as possible to the point it's about overheating due to lack of water. I know he normally turns his big wheels 7000-7200rpm. I think the 7800 was with a 26.

I just received a voice mail from Tony Brucato's shop advising 6200 rpm on a stock ECU... I'm going to call Tony tomorrow morning,, I do wonder is the ECU starts a progression of limiting RPM (ex: starting at 5800) by reducing spark or fuel prior to 6200 or if the ECU is programmed to operate at maximum capability up to 6200 then "go into Rev Limiter Mode" at 6200...

yes, that was when I was running the 40 amp system, I was trying out a 26 chopper, spun 7,800 with stock ecu and was still pulling.

The ecu adds fuel to limit rpm. Not sure why my 99 pulled to 6800 but it was bone stock. Did that with a cut 28 chopper on my old XR2002 and ran somewhere around 94+. You could put a 24 on it and it would only pull 6900-7000 so it was obviously into the soft limiter.

    ECU's who knows

i built a 98 200 EFI last year bone stock block .015 over new vertex ,it was decked and thats it all done by Jim ruck. rods and piston where weight balanced to 3 grams diff and had some 33 cc heads on it with 3 different brains 2 a8 and a 32 none turned over 6200 on my Bullet with 26 trophy just my .02( i was just breakin it in) i had a 225 pmax that Ruck tricked out with a PCU on it hangin on the rack READY yes the fuel curve must be moved forward or they start flooding past the recommended RPMs all though my Pmax came new with a A6 on it in 1995 and it would turn 7000 brand new so go figure !!the reason Tommy was wanting to know about your trim style was we had a 225pmax earlier this year that did the same thing only at 5200 we never found out why he sold it before we found it
