I purchased this '07 Trick from Craig Gregory back in November (without the 2.5/280 that he had on it) and I'm almost finished with the re-rig. The boat was in great condition when I bought it, but I've done a lot of work preparing it for the Opti and the rough waters of the SF Bay I plan on running in frequently. I'll be working with Brett Anderson on props to get it to 110 when it's all dialed in..........

    You will love it.

U will love that boat, and motor combo,The 280 is great. But this hull loves the 3 liters,
The xs is plenty of power and excellent on fuel.
    Enjoy,
    Chris

Thanks for all the nice posts guys. I'm still having some parts fabricated and polished before I can finish it. I'm trying to keep the boat balanced with the 3.2 by installing an Odyssey battery (weight savings of 25 lbs at the transom) and I did install a stereo system (girlfriend insisted AND paid for!) that I'm estimating added 40 lbs just forward of the cockpit liner. I re-rigged one of my former 28 Skaters with 3.0s from 2.5s, and even with mounting the motors directly to the transom instead of manual jackplates and moving both batteries up under the bow, it was still a noticable disadvantage in the rough with the additional weight of the 3.0s hanging off the transom. With the 2.5s it would even plane on one engine, not with the 3.0s! The Trick already had a thru hull water pickup which I am having to build a new water line/clamps/guide to work on the 3.2. I am glad it already had this, as I would have added it if not. I'll now be able to run the motor as high as the boat wants it without losing water pressure and sending the motor into guardian mode. I'm starting with a 32 Pro ET, Pro Finish (non-labbed). I figure this will be a good baseline prop to start with. I'll also weigh the boat once it is fully rigged with no fuel on board (the tanks are bone dry right now as I had to pull all of the old premix out) to know exactly where I'm at after the re-rig. I'm really looking forward to finishing my little "econo-cruiser"!
