2010 250xs Sport
I am looking to upgrade to a 300xs. What would my current motor be worth? It has roughly 60hrs on it. Thanks.

I sold a pair of 2005 250xs's with sportmasters for $15000 I probably could have gotten more for them but I wanted them gone. I replaced them with 2011 300xs's and there is a slight increase in power.

FullAuto9,
I have always wanted to hear a no BS comparison from someone that had a 250xs and then upgraded to the 300xs. From everything I have heard. The 250 is putting out greater HP vs Rating than the 300xs does (meaning 270ish hp 250xs versus 305ish hp 300xs) From what I have heard the 300xs is not the beast the 300x was as far as pure HP goes.
What was the "slight increase" you feel most will see? 2 mph? 3 mph?

The 2005s that I replaced were the more powerful 250xs, they had to burn 91 octane and Premium plus oil, in 2006 the 250xs were changed and could burn 87 octane. The 300xs feels only mildly stonger than older 250xs, but probably feels alot stonger than the 87 octane burning 250xs. I hope some of this makes sense.
ETA: They do feel like they have better mid range and pull up to 90 really quick, havent gone over 90 yet, but I'm sure 100 is going to be fairly easy to reach.Last edited by FullAuto9; 05-29-2011 at 06:41 PM.

Okay. When the 250xs first came out the reports were they were 270ish HP (pushing the 10% rule). Makes sense that the 250 series (XS, Proxs, Sportxs) are closer to their rated HP with the tuned down 87 rated motors.

Darth Ive heard of the 250XS with Green Octane sticker to be close to 290hp at 6000rpms, remember the EPA/Gov only tests at 5100-5200rpms......kind of like the 150 HO ETEC putting out 181hp at 6000rpms, wayyyyyy over the 10% Rule.....
