If you wanted polished they wont be as fast as sanded thats why maybe they were sanded. Hears a good link for cleanning after you get the sand marks smooth then polish it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nG_QOwisNzo This other link also has some good how tos to get it were you want. It seems if theres sand marks youll have to start a little harder wheel then go to med to soft. http://www.wmi.org/bassfish/bassboar...sage_id=154123

I have a Torquemaster that is polished, they are a pain in the BUTT. The only time they look good is right after you polish it untill the first time you put it in the water. And a polished case is slower than a satin finished one, I may get mine soda blasted and not worry about keeping it polished.

The best product for keeping a polished sportmaster looking good is Gord's Aluminum Polish..........I have used nearly all the others. Although many will tell you a polished case is slower than one that is not polished, I never experienced that. My boat, an Allison XB2003 with 225x ran a best speed of 97.1 mph with a HIGHLY polished case and it never ran any faster than that with an unpolished case. Maybe if you were running over 100 mph you would see a few tenths of a mph difference..........maybe. I think the "polished case is slower" thing is an internet thing..........people read it once somewhere on the net so it must be right because the "theory" is right so let's repeat it whenever someone asks the question..........LOL

If you get it polished there is a sealer a lot of the hot rod guys use on the billet wheels and engine stuff. It's called zoopseal. I've read the good reviews but have never used it. I think keeping it looking good would be the hard part but They sure do look good
