I was a fan of the V bottom 20 Venus It would crush waves, useable speed not having to worry about every little wave.

Bull , you must have had a light one, any Idea?

Never really thought of HST as a fast Stream, but all the ones I ran with were full interior heavy layups, so there's that.
Can't compare the two the Venom was a Jimmy C boat designed about 20 years ago with the help of ex Allison employees (If I remember right) the old real Hydrostream's from 40 years ago had a smaller pad.

The Venom never got the respect It deserves, If Andy Driver wanted to he could have broke 130mph with the motors he had

Cuda, as far as drag racing goes The venom is the most respected hull in ODBA / DSRA lakeracer period .. The venom hull has dominated almost every race in both clubs over the last several years..

There is a guy over on FB who is pulling molds off of one right now. Posted pictures of the deck mold a few days ago. He made some changes to the deck plug. Building them under the name Venom Performance Boats. Haven't built a complete boat yet to my knowledge.

I remember that but not the verification.

I have a friend preparing a similar hull to go after those astronomical #s and said he searched, and could find nothing, substantiating those claims.

Told my buddy that I remembered it happening and accepted it as gospel.
That was based on what I saw/read on here.

And that was all second hand, on the internet 😉

But to the subject at hand, fast in a Stream is wayyy different than fast in a STV.
    Ive done both.

That 151 is the record for a multi-passenger SO boat of that type.

Don't know If you saw the build pictures XCF99 has published but those strakes he added next to the pad and a perfectly straight sharp pad he developed makes It a sweet driving controlled event not like a stock one, My design never drove like a V bottom instead much like a tunnel because the 11.5 inch pad, child's play really. A STV's pad is a little lower than side the sponsions and If you look at one over 100 with just a driver the sponsion's are skimming the surface with the 11 inch pad, from what I remember (I had a MVP version) It had a slight concave to the pad.
Roark Summerford was way ahead of his time.

I`ve never driven a Venom but always wanted to. I had no idea that they were capable of running over 120 and staying on the water.

I thought my dad's Hydrostream was fast, until I raced another one and found out I wasn't - LOL.

I've gotten away with a lot in hydrostreams. 100 is fine with me in the small v bottoms. My HST is good to 115 after that the angle of attack is inconsistent sometimes it's good sometimes not. Always wanted a Venom but life things got in the way..especially in 05.

I like the accents on the deck. For sure will be keeping an eye on this. At this point I am about ready to broom almost everything out the door boatwise and start over.

I was there when him Eugene and Dixon ran. Dixon was like 1 mph faster in the Eliminator the Gene was in the Stream, I have a picture somewhere

Cuda I never said my HST was fast. Fact is it was slow. I didn`t have any real power on it plus it was heavy.
