Take off the bowls and flip them upside down on a wooden table. Heat them with a heat gun while pressing down on the bottom of them with a block of wood. Sometimes have to put a shim under one end to get all of the bow out. Make sure to check the jets for tightness when done.

OOOPS! Sorry about that! Like that's never happened before. My buddy is a looper fanatic and likes the 98 and later mid bores with the adjustable idle needles. I would kill for that at times with my Xflow!

another question, i have a 1990 225 looper is it 2.7 or 3.0, has fat head gaskets and lower(even 90lbs) compression, is this motor worth doing any mods to , its clean and runs good , also its really quiet but looks to have factory relieved exhaust at bottom of mid . thanks

I had a 150 xflow before I got the looper. It was actually not near as temperamental as my looper when cold. The guy that had it before me must have had it tuned in perfectly. I kinda miss that old motor.

Your motor is a 3.0 liter. It is a a very good motor to mod. 90 lbs of compression is normal for that motor.

What boat is it on? A jackplate would be a good start. There is always more speed to be had in setup. A common mod to the loopers is to get some heads from a 86-87 2.7 looper to up the compression and jet up accordingly. I would work on setup first though. Start a new thread and many people on here will jump in to help.

the thin .75 head gaskets should bump the comp up about 20 lbs.
