Paint doesn't look right?
I painted an old 140 Johnson cowling with Pettit marine paint, Easypoxy, single componet polyurethane. Prep work was fine but first cost had a slight orange peel look. I did a light sanding and painted again. Paint looks good a few feet away but up close I can see the slight orange peel look. Called mfg and they said to wait 30 days and polish it. Is this the typical way to get a factory looking finish or am I doing something wrong. Thanks in advance

It happens, most paint jobs are not 100% until there sanded and buffed.
