175 sportjet - repitching impeller
I am sending my impellor out to "IMPROS" for repitching , it is a 4 blade , hi-skew , motor is 175 sportjet . I am pitching it up to reduce rpm , just wondering if anyone has had this done and how it worked out ? All input is much appreciated . Thanks

Used them for our 175 sport jet years ago, they do top notch work. Had them repitch a Polaris impeller, it stopped all cavitation, and lowered the rpm by about 150.

Is the 4-blade you have in your 175 an aftermarket? Mine has the stock 3-blade. Ive looked around a little bit but havent been able to find much for aftermarket impellers for the 175. I sent my 3-blade to Impos last spring just to fix what some mean rocks did to it and they did a great job for a very reasonable price. everyone you talk to about impros all give great reviews.

Best thing I ever did to my 175 sportjet was put in a "4 blade Hi-Skew" impeller and had a stainless steel wear ring installed , engine mods : jetted carbs down to .072" from the factory .076" ....changed the reeds to Boysen reeds as the factory stainless steel ones have a reputation for failing after a couple of hundred hours and could possibly do engine damage .

Where did you find your 4-blade and was it reasonable priced? I never messed with the carbs cause the motor has always ran good stock. Havent heard that about the reeds either but thanks for sharing.
