The sensor is like 40 bucks and thats what fixed mine. Also check the wires to the sensor make sure they are not broken or pinched (had that happen also)

You didn't change plugs or wires did you? The wrong ones will screw things up!

So it starts fine cold, and then quits running once the engine warms up? That sounds alot like the issue I had with a power pack, I lost spark on the port bank. Usually it would crank and go the the first fishing hole, then you were done for a while.

I bought the OMC tester off Ebay or BBC, I can't remember, it's way better then guessing.

the sensor is a go-no go thing, usually this sort of problem is a bad stator, pack, wiring or ground.........

If you need a pack, you can do better then 300, I didn't pay that much for mine, and i got a new BRP one. Try bestboatparts.com . A good shop manual and a voltmeter will help you. I bought the tester because its just a plug and play deal.

ive got 2 complete ign systems for the 60 deg v4's, 96 and 01, but your problem sounds like the power pack, do a stator voltage output test first, if ok its prolly the pack.

Have some one pump the ball see if it takes off running. Surging sounds like a fuel problem.
