Snook, we also looked at the one in Loxahatchee. It is the older style design (different deck configuration)

-motor looks great and seems to run fine (older ox66)
    -The hull is structurally sound
-the trailer is decent (probably needs new brakes and bearings)
-Paint job blows...paint peeling (Hialeah yellow)
    -need new canvas on t-top
-center console is from another boat... looks cheap (sea fox or the like)
-the floor flexes under the console
-lotso of unfilled holes throughout the deck
    -wiring is shot

    8-10k boat at best.

With a strong 200hp, you should be in the lower to mid 50's.

The ideal engine for this boat would be the older, small block yamaha HPDI 200. Light and very strong.

by no means the avance is a lake boat far from it ....

    Hey Snook,
Keep looking these boats are worth the effort. In all honesty with my 2.4 Merc 200, and this is with no GPS, goes I'm guessin 50 with 2 people and less than half fuel. I say this speed because I keep up with a boat that has been 51 on GPS. My motor has some hours on it though, so a fresh one will probably make a difference.

Also my liner has zero stress cracks, cap has a few around the two small hatches on the top of the transom, no big ones at all.

Thanks everyone for all the help. I'm looking hard and have received a ton of good tips from SnF members. Also going back and reading old posts have taught me a ton about the boat. I've got about three good leads on Paramounts currently or soon to be for sale. There are times I think about having something faster like a Reaction or Ivan's Avance......but I go back to my youth and getting beat to death down in the Keys in a 15' Whaler (Please don't Hate, I am NOT comparing these boats to that one, just saying that ride is important to me.)

When I first got my 92 Paramount it had a carb 2.5 200 merc on it. It would run 52mph no matter how much fuel it had in it. I have now have a 250 HPDI Yamaha on it and it runs 60mph no matter how full it is. It does sit a little tail heavy with the Yamaha and it also has a 6in set back on the jack plate. It does ride very nice when running into or with the waves, hitting them cross ways it can be a little rough but not to bad. It is a very well built boat, it does still have wood in it but I have not seen any signs of rot anywhere.

Well snook I took my paramount out for the first time and I have to say man what I ride, I have a 250 yam my on the back so it is a little back heavy but man it's a hell of boat to drive, I think I found the boat to keep for awhile, playing around with engine height, man you run the motor pretty high even with a nose cone. I had a 29 lightning with twin xs's on it and was he'll of a ride same with the paramount just a little small, go take a look at the one up north, go luck
