Poplar Bluff Race Cancelled Due to High Water

Just got the official word today that the SLDBA/Lucas Oil race in Poplar Bluff, MO is cancelled due to high water. The water level is FORTY FIVE FEET above normal! If any of you have been there, you know what a great site it is to watch a race because the pit area is on a nice high bluff...the pit area is FOURTEEN FEET under water! I can't comprehend that.

Good luck on Kentucky Lake. I was there for 5 days last week and when we left the water was about 12' above summer pool. That is the highest recorded level for that lake. The lake was recieving about 300 cubic feet per second and was only able to dump 54 cubic feet per second. They were originally going to open the gates Monday but I spose that is dependent on what the Ohio river does. They were scheduled to get another 5" of rain last night.

I figured they were pretty bad too. However, if there can be ANY silver lining to this cloud it's that a couple years ago I drove by and the water was WAY down. I know you can have "too much of a good thing" but it seems like the water levels were really low there for a while. We'll see...hopefully we get to race before Augusta!

Yes. I typically do race at New Athens. I didn't make it last year though. Am planning on being there this year. Thanks!

It's gonna be a tough year for the NADBA.

I was young and bashful back then.
Today,...I'd just knock on her door,..hand her the crab dope, and say, "Rub summa this on ya booger. I'll be back day after tomorrow".
