Interested to see if it makes a diff on performance, you sure went to a pile of work to use it once. LOL Its gotta help acceleration.

Dave,
I didn't know if you were addressing me or FlatSleek........I for one will have mine open 99.9% of the time unless made to do other wise depending on where a local water patrol may object.
I would think acceleration would benefit from the free unrestricted flow, above that I doubt anything else would benefit.

The "TUNER" will help all around but would it help because of the new exhaust port............don't know and can't say for sure. I will test out the motor with the exhaust port open and again with the cap on it. Your gonna have to wait awhile, 240 minutes of double oil break-in mode I gotta get over and done with first............LOL.

Then give it some time to get rid of all the crap floating just under the surface. That junk tends to be hard on lowers, props, hulls, etc.

Ya get some crazy stuff at real high water levels, years back at Cougar reunion seen something in water beside boat doing around 85ish. Went back to look, was a 100' section of barbwire fence poles and wire, that would have been a real ugly deal if I had hit that. Made many slow passes to check for junk after that before turning up the wick.

Well, another wet and cold weekend has come and gone and I'm still waiting to get on the water. Besides all the flooding around here, docks are gone, ramps are still underwater, this weather is the pits, so rediculas.......mid 80's & sunny for a few days, then more rain, then back to mid 80's and rain, then onto low 50's and rain..........when oh when will it ever stop ????
Trying to pass the time, I figured I'd also close up the 2 OEM exhaust dumps at the bottom of the mid. This now limits exhaust routing to out the back and/or down through the prop. It'll probably help in the sound department as well since the exhaust will take the path of least resistance (out the back) when in the water.

This is great to see and good pictures and thread.
I'm going to do this but want to see if you lost any bottom end power before I do it. In the early days when you opened up too much exhaust, the bottom end power suffered quite a bit, but I'm thinking with the 300X and its big TQ numbers it probably wont be a problem.
I'm waiting to see what happens and Thanks!
