    2.5 Carb Temps

    What are typical running temps for a 2.5 Motor?

    Idle - Long Distance
    Running
    But Officer There is NO-WAKE over 100mph............

    It depends on the model and year as they do vary in some cases. Optimax styles are one temp, carb engines are another, EFI is another, High Perf is another. Thus the reason no one has responded to your question yet. You need to provide more than just "temp for a 2.5 engine" as ther are a multitude of things which effect what theremostats and water routing is set up in any one model engine.

    2.5 175 Carb Motor Stock. Late model with O ring heads. Just a regular fishing motor which was getting very hot in the Spring time Florida weather. I dropped the Lower and replaced the water pump which basically exploded . It was more of a curious question of typical operating temp then anything else.
    But Officer There is NO-WAKE over 100mph............
