    lower unit drain screws

Does anybody have any experiene using the drain and fill screws with the allen head? i need to replace mine because the head is stripped and the allen head looks nicer and seams like it would be easier to remove. Any input is appreciated. If you have used them where did you get them?

Stainless steel used on the drain screws is fairly "soft" and combine that with out-of-spec or worn fractional allen wrench and you have a recipe for disaster. Use a 4mm allen wrench made by Snap-On, Matco or one of the quality tool companies for best results.

Do the newer plugs work in the older cases? Is so what year or model do I need to have the dealer look up to get a set?

Does anybody have the part numbers that would fit my 92 300 V8. I think my gearcase is a 1990 or older though since it has the skinnier propshaft at the bearing carrier.

If your dealer looks up your motor they should superceed to the new allen head ones, like already mentioned that's all BRP uses now...
