everyone wants a new truck, its paying for it that sucks!

my old turd is paid for, its a dinosaur compared to new pick ups but oh well.

I had also been told by a ford service director they are very strict about modifications on the new pick ups, meaning they void warranty immediately for even the slightest modification- but I dont know how much they really enforce that.

I dunno on the gas trucks but the new 6.7PSD if you use any kind of tuner it will throw a "non authorized software code" and from want i hear its very hard to remove this code once it shows up... so even if the dealer would let a mod slide if a Ford Rep sees it you still loose you're warranty.

Tuner software and after cat exhaust are apples/oranges as far as dealer work goes. It's a no brainer that if you alter the mapping in the software there would be no warranty from Ford/GM/Chrysler/Any automaker.

6.4's make me money I'd never own a 6.4.. a 6.4 is a maxed out 6 litre. I would own a 6.0 before one. the new 6.7 before that... But a LML Duramax ..

Those 6.4s are fast, 6.0s are pigs. I know a guy with a 6.4 he uses as a tow pig for his race truck. It has 98k tuned with studs runs 12.8 in the 1/4 still on the stock trans. From what I have seen the LMLs are almost 1 second slower with the same mods.

When I worked at a Ford store we had 6.0 after 6.0 in making me money. You either have a good one, or a bad one. I told friends I'd run an OASIS on a VIN before I gave them the okay to buy one. Ugh....

One of the guys I work with has an F150 Ecoboost....he says he gets around 16-18mpg depending on his driving habits. Not much different than my 04' Hemi Dodge Ram.

You can't really compare fuel mileage like that. There are just too many variables. You would have to use the same fuel, drive the same route, and even use the same driver. My wife's 4 cylinder Venza gets 18-20 mpg, while my F150 supercrew gets 20-21 mpg. That, by no means, translates to my truck being more fuel efficient.

Drive normal and keep the average speed higher and you get the mileage, we have so much stop and go here the mileage sucks.
i have 11 lights in my 2.2 mile commute to work and dont do enough highway to make up for it.

Every single time we get a 6.4 we pull the cab... EVERY TIME unless it's for a recall but then we usually find something wrong in the HPOP or HPFP and gotta pull the cab anyways. I'd own a 05-06 6.0, no later years.

We got a 20000 mile reman ford 6.4 in the shop right now that spun every single main bearing.......... Sucks when people don't change their oil.. But ford will cover it.
