Pulled my heads last weekend simply as a preventative measure to take a peek before the start of another season and all is well. As usual, Rock came through for me and had a set of 2 liter gaskets on the shelf for me to use. Thanks Buddy!!

My question is this: Gasket on the left came off the motor.....gasket on right is new piece, Q-Silver Part # 96542....which shows to be the right gasket for my application, and has been verified through several sources. The difference in the water pass-through holes is pretty significant between the two and was wondering what, if any, effect this may have on cooling??? Was there a one piece head used on the 2 liters along with the 2 piece?? Motor retains stock 2 pc exhaust adapter and T-stats. Whatta you guys think???

Merc prob. started selling a more generic gasket to cover more part #s and let the dealers carry less parts in stock. I worked at a merc. dealer and saw some parts #s update to diff looking parts. If you still run t-stats, no change in temps should happen...jmo
