chrome split bowl
found a Berkeley split bowl that someone chromed...it is cracked and peeling...looks terrible...should I have it rechromed or is plating soft bubbling aluminum just a bad idea or should I strip it and paint it...and can you strip chrome at home?

It needs to go to a plater to remove the chrome and base metal. The Berkeley castings are a very dirty alloy, they are even hard to powder coat.
