Building the new "MAN CAVE"
Well, after almost 14 years of living in this house, I decided to finally build out the man cave. When we built this house in 1997, we framed in a room above the garage area to be eventually built out into a party/mother in law/apartment/media room. It's 1500 square ft with 10ft cielings in the center. We did'nt do it right away because we did'nt want the extra footage figuered into our tax bill. Every time I get ready to do it, I go upstairs and see all the stuff we stored up there in the last 13+ years and I say "well, maybe next year"
I finally cleared it all out and am gonna do it. It will have another bedroom, a big bathroom, full kitchen with granite counters and stainless appliances, and a killer media room with 60" flat screen with surround sound. I also have to put in another complete air cond system. There will also be a recessed tray cieling with mohogany crown molding and recessed lighting. The floors will all be solid 3/4" x 5" mohogany hardwood. Here's the before pics from earlier this week

Here's some of the framing. The bedroom is on the left. The recessed area will bee where the TV goes with a large built in Mohogany entertainment area underneath it. The bath is on the right. In the middle is a 66" wide hallway with a 6'x8' walk-in closet.
The bottoms of some of the studs are not attached yet. (Just in case someone thinks they are crooked)

Avid hunter, walls lines with stuffed, pool table, arcade games, b/screen, nice deck looking out over the water. Lotta fun building from scratch, as ya can do it just the way ya want it!

OK, Brass Poles, Jukebox, LOUD, pool table, full bar, Big HO town setup, 16x16, AND, a full small scale "Gas RC Dragcars, 1/4 mile..(5x 30 feet is fine, at scale, and ya got room), Slotcar track, the HO, Slots and Dragstrip, on platforms, raised to the ceiling when not in use..(be seldom I bet!)...as took so long to get around to doing it? Might as well put in strobe lights, and a mirrored "Disco ball too!".

ALSO, when the walls are up, bet many here with years (the original "American Pickers"), would for free ..donate in their loft/attic, stored, forgot about stuff.. "posters, signs, things needing a wall "of fame"..I know I sure got after 60 years a chitload of.."packed away"...and need a new home..no more room me..be glad to donate something! Damn, make it a freaking museum with the room ya got. Gotta say, Randy..after 13 years...ya finally looked at it and said.."I should do something here?" If yer anything like me, once the air nailer comes out..."get the hell out my way.."On a mission!"
