3.0L Mercury Gearcase Assembly

Once you remove the Carrier Cover Nut does the Carrier itself come out or does the whole gear set, prop shaft, carrier, etc. come out ??????

The carrier and the reverse gear come out together. Pinion gear and driveshaft followed by the propshaft and forward gear. Gently push the propshaft to the port or left side of case while rotating the shift shaft.. and pull out.

yup what he said,probably going to have to use a puller to remove carrier
