Update on skater 32 skater hatch , console, heads up display , arched shifter cover
Here is and update on my skater hatch , didnt like my orig hatch so I decided to lay-up my own to my specs . It has built in cooler , skater logo cut from 1/4 fiberglass and will be glassed in to have 3d look . Also hatch doors are smooth on both side so graphics will be sprayed on both sides . Hinges , i have a real problem with most hinges on market , why ? Nothing is more unsightful that a really nice boat with strap or " barn door " hinges on outside . So I made my own hidden hinges on my mill out of 1 inch alum . Bottom line no exsposed screws or bolts and when i layed hatch up i bonded in 3/8 alum plate that was tapped so no hatch through bolt . .
I made the console because my skater was a race boat and hade none so i made a mold from mdf and layed on up with vinyl-ester resin . Also made curved shifter cover again a mold and v-e resin . Again no visible screws ( has 1/4 nuts in lay-up ) and studs installed
dash in alum with alum all-thread and will be painted yellow .
Heads-up display i made as well because the set you can buy has a massive plate alon with visible screws ( very ugly ) so i madde my own plate from alum with welded on alum studs . I did buy the sticks but underneath made the track as well .

Very nice attention to detail. I like your refusal to accept over-the-counter parts due to inferior design and the ability n' willingness to make with your hands what your minds eye sees! Excellent!

excellent, and I know how that yellow can sometimes be tough to spray.
just got out from under a 28 and I remember why I hate the bottom of these boats, they just go on and on and on!Raybo Marine http://www.raybomarine.com/
