Flow weren't they older? I had a 63 starflite VII it was an electric shift. I will look for the photos if I have them. Rick

The Silver Starflite was produced two years, 1974 and 1975. Both years it was painted entirely in silver. The engine came standard with power trim and tilt and a SST propeller. In 1976 it was called the 135-S and was painted silver with a dark blue gearcase; the cowl top was also painted dark blue. In 1977 they re-rated it as a 140 and it was called the 140-S.
It was not produced after the Strangler (consumer model, not race); it was produced and offered simultaneously, both years (1974-75). The top of the line for Evinrude in those years was the standard 135 Starflite (gold paint, no trim/tilt, aluminum prop), then the 135 Strangler (blue/white paint, no trim/tilt, no prop) and the Silver Starflite (as described above).

Yeah, nice streamlined gear case too.
Tough motor though. My brother has a '74 85hp, third owner, still runs good. Pulls skiers all day long on 12 gallons of gas.
