Pretty funny. Nothin wrong with a merc if it's got a prop. But put a jet pump on it and an OMC will hand it's butt to it all day long. We all run outboard jets in these part and the motor of choice is OMC. I'ts cheaper and easier to build a fast OMC on a pump than it is to build a Merc on a pump. Not trin to start nothin... just sayin.

Thanks man! out of all the motors I've painted that one gets the most complements. Personally Ihated the color at first. Then I talked the guy into letting me ad some silver into the color then I dusted the motor with some metalic blue. Once the decals went on the motor grew on me. Forgot to mention the blue/silvermotor and the airbrushed motor are painted no viynal decals.

I can paint it just about any way you would want it or I can airbrush something on it. What motor do you have on the boat? I live about 60 miles south west of Farmington Mo,

I have Johnsons, I stripped them and had them painted white and the pans, mids and lower unit are grey. The hoods have tape stripes. I tried to match on of the panels on the boat, doesn't look bad but it is just not what I was looking for. I will send you some pics and you can let me know if you have any ideas. I go to Williamsville from time to time, its on 67 just south of Lake Wappapella. Is this close to you?

This link does not give a good view on the hoods but you can get the idea. The pic of the deck is what I tried to duplicate on the hoods. I getting newer power heads redone and I would like to change the design on the hoods. I have been restoring this boat over the past 3 years and it is almost done.
