I ended up with a Canon Rebel T2i with an extra lens. Now if only I can learn how to use it.

FYI. For any Nikon owners, Target stores are discontinuing some items and have marked them down considerably. Last week I picked up the 55-200vr lense for $69.99

I really like my Canon Xsi. It is a great beginner DSLR, you can shoot with the cannon "L" lenses and when you are ready to advance set up to the professional Full Frame DSLR, keeping the same lenses. A good package is the Xsi with the stock 18-55 and then buy the 70-300 to practice your distance shots. You can find that package for around 500-700. Shane

WOW!!! that is an excellent price for a 55-200vr lens... i received a nikon d3000 as a gift for christmas and have been searching for another lens.. i wanted to get a 300 lense but for that price i will start with a 200.. i hope i can still find one...

my first choice for a digital was a canon rebel t2i.. my previous camera was a canon rebel eos (film)..
but i will now get familiar with the nikon...
any tips would be greatly appreciated...
