ID:	236608Hi,

Good news. Engine arrived today. It was mounted this afternoon, and the rigging will be finalised by end of tomorrow. I will get some more pictures over. The 350 sci looks massive here, but its not mounted. The strange thing is that the 350 sci is only 5 inches taller than my ol Promax 300.

    Hi,

Thanks I will go over tomorrow. They are close to be finished. The festival I am working with starts over the week end so the boat will be on water next week end. Too much other stuff to sort out really.

The Verado 350 sci has the new Poseidon HD gearcase. The proshaft has 1,25 inches dia and has 19 splines. I struggle to find the partnumber to the required Mercury Racing’s 1.25-inch solid propeller hub kit. Do you know?

    Cheeers and thanks! Toffen

Looking forward to a report on this. Not many setups around like this, but it is probably a first of many to come.

you have to be getting excited. I saw you had a video with a 25 Motion. So what kind of speed is Espen getting with his 300xs? I have same setup on mine.

I get 108 consistently in freshwater, but have lots of water pressure. I have installed the jackplates and raising them 1/8" at a time.

    Hi!¨

    Hope you all are well.

Got the boat on water two days ago. Have not tested wot yet as I am running 4000 - 5400 rpms for the 5 first hrs.

Fist impression; very quiet, very high class performance, great punch, much more than my PM 300, ofcourse less than twin 2.5 efis, excellent on fuel. At 4,000 rpms and 48 mph the fuel consumption is 39 liters eq to 10,5 gallon per hrs. And I have only used the engine 2 hrs. That gets you 4,57 mpg!

The lower unit creates little more drag, but can be jacked high. I can run it almost run even with the bottom and still maintain 20 psi plus waterpressure. Two inches below the bottom will be good I think. Its a heavy boat. When I had a PM 300 with the same gear ratio, the cruise speed at 4,000 rms was 50-51 mph. However, that engine was heavy on fuel. Its lots of power in the engine, so I beleive the A45 Tempest 25 will be 1-2 inches too small. I will test a Hydromotive 4bl prop and a Mirage Plus too. Both labbed and 25 pitch. When I am finished with my break in I will try to get hold of a prop that likes to be run high, to offset the extra drag in the gearcase.

I would try a P5X Hydromotive. They have a lot of lift, both bow and stern, and are designed to be run at high gearcase levels. Call Tom Bucknell at Hydromotive Props 330 425 4266. He will help you determine which prop to use. Good luck with your project.

    Hi!

Managed 79 mph at 6,400 rpms today on sticky water. Lots of waterpressure (30 psi), so I will play with propheight. 80-81 mph is definetly within reach. The prop I use is a A45 Tempest 25 in stock form. I will try a labbed Mirage Plus 25 pitch and a Hydromotive 4bl labbed 25 pitch this week end. Great punch in the engine. Can turn big blades.

Very cool. Glad to see it coming together for you Toffen.
I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.

I refuse to allow common sense to interfere w/my boat buying decisions.
