Who do you call when your tractor trailer is stuck? A guy with a Cummins Ram. By buddy put his Top Kick dump loaded with a few yards of sand into a septic. His father and brother have a Chevy and a Ford. Guess who he called to pull him out?

Clockwork O, that sure is a nice looking boat... I'm really not big on Mirage's either, but that one seems to be an exception...

ID:	242426Well, I have better photos of the car somewhere ! Any way, it's a '71 Mach 1 Mustang, that I've been towing my boats with since '92, no problems, plenty of power. The trailers all have brakes, so stopping is excellent.

Spike, that's a cool looking combo, it reminds me of back when I was a kid. My Dad and uncle used to pull their 16ft Glaspar fishing boat with my uncle's Ram Air 1 4 speed 68 GTO. People use to try to get out on them when they'd leave a toll booth but even with the trailer they couldn't do it.

Cool SK boat too. My buddy's grandfather used to race them back before we were born. One of the ones he ran was the SK66 Gaybar Marina boat, that was the marina he owned.

    John R,
Prior to buying the Mach 1, I towed my boats with a '70 Olds 442 W-30. Similar to your GTO, in many ways. Talk about torque! With a Ram-Air 455 cu in engine, 375 horse, and 500 foot pounds torque in a mid-size ( for then ),and a shift kitted turbo 400 trans, I would pull the Chiriaco Summit 27 mile upgrade out of Indio, going to the River, high noon, a/c on, passing every crew-cab or SUV type vehicle there is doing 70. The olds was stock, restored, damn great car. Of course, mileage wasn't why you own a muscle car, but it did everything else well.
I know somewhere in my computer I have a photo of the car pulling my hydro, but for now, here's just the car. Great tow vehicle.Click image for larger version.

    Hey Spike

Glad to see someone else talks about the old days of running to the river with something other than a truck in 70s. I used to make runs to the river with a 72 Grand Torino Sport and later a 77 Mark V Lincoln pulling my flatbottom. Both cars were light blue with the boat being white with light blue trim. Being a Ford product my luck with overheating wasn't as good as yours.

As you can see, in my past post I still pull my small boat with a Linclon Mark with 18 MPG at 70 MPH.

It wasn't so long ago, not everyone drove a truck.
