this is my new (to me) 99 dakota R/T....i really like it so far but the damn thing is always thirsty! i added stiffer shocks and helper springs to keep it from sagging in the rear when the trailer is hooked up...just drove it from el paso tx to shreveport la and got 17mph on the way there (empty hitch) and got between 9-11 towing the boat back

Just sold my '01 1/2 ton Chevy p/u to buy this. We travel a lot and take our dogs w/us. A van gives us room to spread out.
Depending on how far we're going I even take the porta potti out of the Sonic and put it in the van for the Mrs so we don't have to stop
Also lets us camp in it. Have done this w/several vans and my favorite mode of transportation/towing.
Has 3 bench seats that are all removable. The rear one turns into a bed.
W/the seats being removable it gives us a ton of space and still lets me haul dead motors like in the truck.
The "passenger" vans are kinda hard to come by thoough. Most are either cargo or conversions. I like the conversions too but all that weight robs from your towing capacity and wastes too much room as all/most of the interior is permanent.
This one is a '00 w/a 350. The RPO tag shows 3.42 gears but based on the speedo reading 10 MPH's high and the fact it will bark the back tires from a 10 MPH roll, I'm guessing a previous owner had them switched to 3.73's which add's a 1K lbs towing capacity.
I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.
I refuse to allow common sense to interfere w/my boat buying decisions.
