455 Rebuild question
I have inherited a 455 rebuild project with a longblock that was rebuilt several years ago professionally..... and then stored. I went to install the intake manifold tonight and noticed that there is some surface rust on the intake ports leading up to where the intake valves seat. It is noticeable only in three of the cylinders. I would hate to have to pull the heads in order to clean up just those spots but on the other hand do not want to put it all back together only to have problems later. Is that surface rust a problem? The valve stems themselves look flawless...mirror finish. Any input would be appreciated.
