GenTex Jackets
Does anyone know when GenTex racing jackets went out of production? I was getting something out of my attic a couple of days ago and tripped over my old one, it is in remarkably good condition. When I stopped racing in 1976 both GenTex and LifeLine jackets were available. I tried out a Lifeline but found it a bit bulky for kneeldown racing.
GenTex also made fire fighting gear back then. I wore some of it at work back then.

Back then, I also preferred the Gentex, over the Lifeline. Having a jacket with the neck-support collar, amoung other things, is very important, no matter the brand. If your old Gentex does not have the neck collar, its fairly worthless. If memory serves, Gentex stopped making marine race jackets around 1980. www.GenTex.net
