The Bridgeport models were not made after the introduction of the 2.5 260 in 1991-92 as far as I know so you may have a replacement powerhead which was built in 1993. These engines did not come with top pinned pistons either to my knowledge??. So I question how that can be?? BUT cutting the exhaust chest and enlarging the bottom exhaust outlets will help. You'll need to cut the heads to gain compression to see much in the way of a power increase. Of course the little things like porting the pistons themselves and opening the rod slots will also help as it is not a single thing that makes an increase but the sum total of all you do. There are a lot of "little" things that will help but whether or not it is cost effective is the overall question. We do all of these things daily. You might call me direct and discuss what you want to do. 850-769-9391

If you want the motor to continue to perform reliably, leave it stock.
If you want the motor to perform like a 260, then get a 260.
If you want to make a time bomb out of a good motor, start grinding.
My BP is all-stock with cast side-pin pistons, stock heads, and thick fishin'-motor gaskets.

if it is a real bp motor having the exhaust cut out of it will help. i had one looked like a drag exhaust.. awesome running motor. cut the heads to 150 lbs comp run 93 oct fuel, and rock on!!!doesnt effect reliabilty. we all should be running the best fuel you can get at the pumps anyway. JMO like pyro said they run good stock, but it will never b a 260.
