Looks like they're running nose cones with remote water pickups plumbed into the gearcase at the water pump.
Any fool can make something complicated - it takes a genius to make it simple.

It looks like stock mounts and steering pickup, nice test I guess?

What I am particularly impressed with is that these are stock fishing 175hp E-Tecs (other than the modified lower units, low water intakes). No Race mods such as motor mounts, limiters etc, and they are cleaning up. It's darn impressive. In my opinion is one 'sic' video with the closeups of one of the motors, together with sound, you all have to agree.

Wow, those cowls are all over the place. The video of the mid doesn't show near the movement, so I'm guessing thats just in the cowl mounts.
Kinda cool that after all these years, they still sound like OMC's. Definitely different and distinct sounding.Keith-

I agree, cool video, nice sounding - BUT - way too much wobble in the motors , for those speeds and conditions.

Guess What!!
These 175hp EVINRUDE E-Tec fishing motors won 'CONVINCINGLY' in the horrendous conditions. If you look carefully at the video you will see many other participating boats being overtaken & left far behind. These are great engines even in standard form. Just imagine what they will do with a few mods.
