Love the outboard on the yellow tunnel. You say that mid/lower is not in production? I know the 3rd pic is an AMPS.

Tell me more about this F1 V8 setup you're building.

Hey Fichrman2, what's the advantage of the Lawless drive over the standard K&B? I can see the shaft angle is less - that has to help longevity, right?

That , better shape and weight. The HiJacker mount is really sweet, tons of adjustability and you can even run trim on a 3rd channel with it.
Im really a mono guy, but I have been messing around with the tunnels for the last year or so. Kinda hard not to when some of the best RC tunnel racers in the country are right here in my back yard.
The Mod Vp is really gonna be wild to drive , I have only seen em run once and have never driven one myself -lol
Nothing like deep end of the pool ...........

That sounds cool. Got any links to pics, etc? Will any motor work on that lower? Looks like the 16cc K&B is the biggest nitro marine engine from a manufacturer.

What's the benefits/drawbacks of nitro vs. gas as far as performance? Since we're talking 15# boats (1/4 scale stuff), is the Zenoah a better way to go?

You kinda gotta make the trim deal yourself, as Im not aware of anyone who makes a kit-
though I could be wrong. I will take a few pics of one of the setups when Im in Sowega for the race and post em for ya.
I dont have one on mine yet.
Im thinking that heavy a boat would be better served with a gas setup, just my .02
It would be easier to tune- cheaper on fuel and run for longer periods.
Initial cost is close. Gonna need a lower designed for a gas motor though .

Jackracing, the MOD VP is one of Mark Poole's boats , he is out of Ga.

shure .. the gas outboard is a AMPS design . it was in R & D at amps international hobbies before the went bk also the 53 seabolt hull . they never put it out . MR Agnew took what he could back to the UK with him . and made 5 of them . the molds for the tunnel hull were lost over time , so i took the one i had and made a new mold and plug to make them . over time i have found all the tooling for the outboard . one mold is doing a aluminum leg the other mold is injection plastic . they run a flex shaft not the gear like the nitro amps . iwant to do one like the one in the middel pic
