    SeaStar steering

Rigging up a 19ft Skeeter Bass boat with Teleflex Sea Star hyd. steering... What is the ideal Helm to buy for it? I already have a ram which fits motor percfecly. I cant rememberr the exact number it is but it came off a 2.4 200 merc. I am going to run a 2.4 200 modified to Cherry Lil Mota specs on the boat. Any help or input on it is appreciated.. Thanks, Bob....
I am also looking for a good deal on a helm.. and hoses. Got to stay within my buget ya know!

Bob , standard helm and hoses will work fine but the PRO Helm and hoses are rated for higher pressures . In my opinion the stock one is fine properly installed , but if you can swing it use the Pro helm and hoses for the hell of it , couldn't hurt .

I see different displacements lke 2.0 and 1.7 and so on... which one gives more turning force at high speeds? My dual cable system no has a 1.5 turn from center to lock or 3 turns from lock to lock. I might even preffer 4 turns from lock to lock but very little slack... Just want to buy the right thing first time... I have probably owned 25 boats and never one with Hydr. Steering.

Look at the Uflex helms as well. They are interchangeable same bolt pattern and all.

The 2.0 is the standard. I'm not sure on the # of turns lock to lock I guess I have never counted it.

The Sea Star Pro is 4 1/4 turns lock to lock. I believe the Basic sea star is 5. Like Tom mentioned go with the Pro helm and hoses. It's just good insurance. Especially if you're going to be running over 60 very much.
