That's a bad deal, another boater lost his life to what he loved so dearly.
I guess the boats stern got lifted while cresting the wave, planting the bow down so deep ? ?? Who'd ever thought one would roll like that..
As a kid once, I saw a big fishing boat coming in from the gulf, riding a big wave like a surf board. The guys on board were having a ball.
RIP skipper.

We did something like that coming in thru the Outer Banks of NC......in a 65 foot House Boat......we surfed the breaker for the longest time......then all of a sudden, dove into the back of the next wave.......
Broke the whole front off of the house boat, lost 110 gallons of extra fuel overboard, (2 - 55 gallon drums), and almost washed me over board also.
The scary part was when we went to go call "Mayday", ( a term you never want to hear on the ocean), the radio, (which was mounted on the ceiling), was wet, and didn't work.
We got home ok, but we bailed water out of the pontoons / sponsons) all the way back home.......(several hours)JOHN MASON
