jetting with wh22 carbs

i just went to wh22 carbs on my 2.4 200s. i didn't get jets with the carbs so i used the ones from my old carbs. i have a set of velocity stacks and and boysen reeds. i went from 80 82s to 82 84s with the old carbs when i put the reeds and velocity stacks on. i ran the wh22s and now my plugs are pretty black. the book says stock would be 74 & 76s. should i go with 76 and 78s or stay with my 82 & 84s. thanks

For some odd reason the 22s use smaller jets?????? A bigger bore carb should use bigger jets. I don't know why but Merc did something in the carbs not seen by most. Lean it till it's happy.
