Need Some Help And Advice......on refit/rebuild

I am cleaning up and old hull for my dad so he will have a boat.

I need to clean out all the paint and carpet glue from the inside of the boat and glass in the old jet pump holes. After that I need to put new stringers a floor and a transom back in the boat before fix the top deck.

I haven't bought any supplies yet, I have just started cleaning the inside of the hull out. Any guidance and advice would be appreciated deeply.

This is what I have to work with at least the price was right.

I used some easy off to clean some bottom paint off once will that work on the inside?

lol thats funny i got the same boat gutted out at the shop now
sometimes easy off works most of the time you either sand blast or sand it off
did you save a pattern for the stringers that helps

Yeah I have one stringer and the keel beam left over, I'm trying to convert the boat to an outboard.

Well let me know if there is a problem. I am going to redo the deck and make it a flat deck flats style boat . I hope to get it to run about 70mph with a 200. He likes to go fairly fast and fish.

His last boat was a bullet but with things being the way they are a new bullet isn't in the cards.

john i think it was cause we would have to taottaly change the transom theres a small pocket for the jet pump on this one and not enoph room to mount up a 20 inch motor and get it at the right hieght
but you might be able to do a 15

This boat is a v all the way back minus the cut out for the intake and the transom is flat from hull side to hull side. It reminds me of a donzi classic, it was a sleekcraft rebel.

The transom is about 22 inches tall.

No problem I will get some pictures tomorrow after I drag a big tree limb that fell out of the way its to dark right now anyway.

Hey whats the best way to clean the inside of the boat with out grinding the roving down? I used oven cleaner to get some of it off, I sprayed it off after about 30 minutes should i have left it on there longer? Should i hit it again with oven cleaner? Can I just use a grinder with a wire wheel on it?

yea that's different from mine the tops are just about the same
i would say go for it look like it should work good as a outboard

I have never filled a hole in fiberglass bigger than my fist what do you suggest I do with these big cut outs? How should I go about glassing them back in?

Also what kind of paint stripper should I use?
