You will never know till you try different props, Trophy or Tempest would be good place to start. JMO

For all-out fishing I'd try a 4-blade Trophy, Hydromotive and the like... For fishing but with a tinge for speed I'd probably try a HOSS Hyperdrive, Chopper or cut Chopper, OMC SRX, etc... I'm going to assume that something in the 27 pitch range will be pretty close...

Bass and walleye boats ran a test with the 20' bullets and 225 motors. The merc ran the best with a 28p hydromotive quad IV. 90 mph top end. Motors were set 1" below the pad if I remember correctly. Merc whipped the rude, and barely out ran the yammi... Good article, was done very accurately and fairly.

An inch below the pad is pretty low considering the size of the usually equipped jackplate, I wonder if they played with a higher engine height for grins and giggles... Anyway, 90mph on a Bullet with a 225 is a very respectable speed, and the 4-blade HydroMotives are awesome props because alot of fast Bassboat guys really like them...

This was one of the best comparisons of motors I have seen. This was when JWT was there I Believe. They played with several setups and had to have, topspeed, fuel econ., best cruise, and acceleration times. Hard to acheive all things in one prop....L/U ht. may be incorrect, Im gettin old and have crs....It may be 1" above. I will look for the mag. and verify...Right now the boats behind the truck and it's telling me it's time to turn it loose on the river.
