allison river racer looking for set up

just gotta' find it again after 15-20 years

so I still have my old 1991 allison rr
picked it up at the factory one day loong ago..
. musta had 10 engines on this boat..

back new I ran the drags with a 1992 150 fastrike evinrude.we had it dialed in BACK THEN

remember your grandpa' telling you he forgot more than you know..?

right now the prop shaft is 1 inch below the pad, with the bobs manual turned in for minimum setback..I pulled the 29 sst rx 5900 on the caribbean club to tiki bar run about 6 weeks ago

ran good going down...coming back it seemed stuck to the water not getting loose...and when I trailered up i noticed the bobs cone had shed most of the epoxy and there was a big patch missing.........

maybe it was the flats i burned across but since BOBS put the cone on in 1993 after almost 20 years all i could do was send it back to bobs for a redo


DAMN it came back today.
I told robert over there about this gearcase, he remembered the drags from 1994 and said he would look out for the Allison nosecone setup..

IT looks sooooo good... soo good.......DAMN i'm gettin ready !! TO RIDE!

but now..I have to find it ALL AGAIN with this 1991 faststrike 175 on my rr

I THINK I REMEMBER the 1993 set up with basically the same motor was ;

bobs jack turned out for 5 inch set back

prop shaft straightedge level with pad

allison custom prop washer that moved prop back about 1 inch

back then it was the drags in b stock pullin a 26 allison drag chopper 6500

just cut the 2 orange wires to the pack to defeat the rev limiter and add .002 to the high speed jets

now this next week

I'm gonna' try
1st run with jack still turned in and raising the jack to prop shaft level with the pad no rev limiter 29 rx nice new fresh bobs allison cone

I got 83 on gps in the keys...an inch lower and at 6000 feeling the rev limiter

this time no rev limiter prop setback spacer and fresh nosecone and up an inch
Back to the first sentence

I want to get the BEST TOP END SPEED

and ok you guys please dont say put a merc on it

just give me a GPS 90 and I think thats enough....91..92

I need to and care for----- at least 90 mph with my 175 fastrike on the allison r/r

the 29 rx at 6080 with the e-tec 200 gave 83 uhhh i got the video at joels outboard--you tube

so can a old school carb...60 degree rude catch the big--- nine ohhhhh---- 90mph

this week is about gone but trying for monday august 16 th at markham....we will be the only ones there

I would expect 90 with 175 to be possible. My SS2000 with an old XR4 runs 89+. Of course I have a G force tuner which must be worth a bucket of HP
