Very nice and roomy, good fast family boat, also like the Yammy power.

    At 22

No resale, poorly rigged, and isn't any faster than any other 22. Stick with what you got Rick.

I actually spent some time yesterday trying to get the loot togeather for it after you posted the link over there, just not in the cards at this time and I really want one of the V/8 I/Os.
Harrys boat is really the coolest one, with the Pulse drive and a big block(before he put the steam in it) and that boat rocked, Pat has a video of him running a poker run with all the big boys and it is just astounding how well it handled the bigger water, and Harry was drive'n like a mad man.

Only three of them have been built since the first one, in about 1996-97. The entire boat design is Harry Schoells and he owns the molds. AT simply lays up the glass. The first one was a pulse-drive with a 280ish h.p. 350 smallblock. Ran 65 m.p.h. Not impressive at all. Like I said, same speed range as any other 22' class sportboat, with the same power, I/O or O/B, but with less freeboard, no resale, trailer issues, less fuel capcity...the list goes on. The one outboard yamaha boat, you can keep. They experimented/built one center-console pulse-drive too. No thank-you. But as they say, there is a seat for every A-S.

I was the factory rep for Active Thunder when the 22' Banshee was developed. Harry Schoel designed the boat; we made the mold. Harry built his first 22 with his Pulse Drive; Pat (AT) built his first 22' Banshee with Yamaha power. The boat ran very well with no bow lift, turned great and handled rough water pretty good for a 22' boat. Steve Miller (Active Thunder's shop foreman/carpenter/rigger who died in a tradjic accident a few years ago) did most of the work on the mold and first boat). I never did get a chance to see what the boat would do top speed (it seemed we always ran out of room running the ditch or got stuck running through rough water)...but being that the first Active Thunder version had Yamaha power the point is probably moot. It would have been interesting to see what the boat could've done with a 300X. We were never fond of the deck design...our thinking back then was to take the hull and adapt a "baby" Active Thunder style top deck to the hull but unfortunately that never happened. The hull mold was then used to build a bass boat...after that I lost track of the molds. I think the hull has great potential....with a more aggressive top deck the boat could be a winner!!!

Yup! Good ol Jeff...he got tired of Pat's BS and went to work for Outdoor World/Bass Pro Shops....Tim Parsons (the guy who taught Jeff Dorber alot about rigging/wiring) is one of my best friends. He stayed on at Active Thunder long after Jeff and I left...til he got tired of Pat's BS! lol Tim helps me alot with my boat rigging and repairs! I stopped in to visit Active Thunder after the Miami Boat Show. The boats have come a long way in their fit and finish and are top shelf elite! They are definitly building some Bad AZZ Acive Thunder machines and have a cult following!!! Where many of the big high performance manufacturers have taken a beating the last few years (Fountain, Baja, Outerlimits, Nortech, Velocity, etc.); Active Thunder was smart by keeping things small...one custom boat at a time!

Is Tim still your roomy? Or did he finally get his own place?..lol Pat's BS is what drove a lot of good talent out of Active Thunder over the years, and he hasn't come to realize this. Not to mention working for someone with bipolar disease.

JD & I go back to the good ole days of working for JR @ SonicUSA.......talk about dealing with BS....lmfao
He rigged........ I painted did the grapics...during my time there.
When JD was the OM @ BP/Tracker he hooked me up as a vendor, he sublet me all their electronics installs....after a few yrs. of managing all the misfits at that circus he bailed and went north to Edgewater.....and we lost touch...........the boating circle is a small world...lol
If you ever happen to get in touch....let him know Fig says hello
