Hydrostream Vulture
I have a 78 vulture and looking for some set up help. I have a bone stock 94 200 xri with a Bobs 200 1.87 gearcase running 75/76 on gps with a small hub 24" Trophy II turning 6800/6900 rpm. I have tried several Yamaha drag props a few Mazco RE3's a mercury cleaverand a couple Merc choppers all in the 24" to 26" range. Everything i do slows me down to the 71 to 73 range. I would like to see 80 with my boat without modifying the engine. Is there anyone out there familiar enough with this boat to help steer me in the right direction? I have a 5" hydraulic jackplate and have run anywhere from 3" below to 1" above and somewhere around 2" below the pad works the best. Thanks, Dwayne Laramore. Buna Tx.

I have no experience with this hull, but according to the hydrostream.org site, you need about double the setback you have (they say at least 10 inches) you should get your hands on some spacers or a fixed plate and then mount the hydraulic plate to that.

I have had that on my mind and believe i have found some 4" aluminum channel to set the jackplate farther back. Thanks
