I paid 1,000 for mine. However, the motor needs a rebuild and the finish needs to be re-done. Interior is great. I am hoping it will run mid 70's when I am done (stock 200 merc.)

What kind of a starcraft is it? Have any pictures? If it is the laser copy like mine a 200 will work great.

That video is a 17' Laser, same beam width as the 380 just shortened... It's actually Tony Brucato with his nice OMC set-up...

Nice video. I actually have not had mine out yet, still working on rigging it. Just from searching on here a lot of the guys are running very well with 200's attached to the lasers. I am hoping for mid 70's at a minimum with my stock Merc 200 (86). Put on a 260, well you may have a 90 plus mph boat!

So finally got the starcraft together. Went with a 175 mariner. Anyone know about the transom height on these? I have a 20 inch motor and with it all the way down (last hole) I am splitting the bullet on the bottom of the boat. whats up with that? I dont have a jackplate yet but if I did I would have to get a ton of set back to clear the transom.

can you please take a picture, it almost sounds like you have a 15in mid section on your motor??
id love to see some more pics of the boat anyways-- i actually just found one for sale a few hrs from me, i would have picked it up already but my wife was bitching on the way home!! we had about 3 1/2hrs to drive home, or we could have driven like 2 1/2 to go buy the boat, and then drive like 2hrs to get home after that...
its alright, im driving up to go buy it sometime in the next few evenings when i get out of work early!!
im soo excited, i cant wait to put it together, and i even have 2 different powerheads i am building for it.. a 2.5 260 with special, jim ruck designed sleeves installed, or a steel sleeve 2.4 with the port specs of a 260hp motor. and i will use either a cle with a nose cone or a standard v6 merc lower with a nose cone, and i have a hydrualic jackplate that comes with it as well..
only thing that really stinks, is it looks to have single cable steering installed!!! its only had a 115hp on it so i guess it didnt matter until me getting it-- hopefully i can find a cheap dual cable steering helm!!! hopefully someone can help me with a dual cable helm, i can get some cables from my boss id think, do i just need a helm so please let me know if someone can help!!! either way it should be fun, and God willing it works out!
i cant wait to see some more pics of the eagles!!

I have single cable right now. I have two hydraulic rams (no helm or hoses yet) and I have a no feed back dual cable system with no helm yet. Still putting it together. This boat did come with a long shaft mercury 200 on it. I thought they were crazy until I put this on it. But I cannot imagine they made this boat for a long shaft....

Anybody know whats up with my transom? Are these eagle/lasers designed to have the motor ride high on the transom?

speed
Had the starcraft 69 mph on GPS today with a 26 chopper 6k RPMs. No jackplate, and no low water pickup yet. Just put a dual NFB system on it for steering, a little stiff and choppy, not sure if I like it. Boat is solid as a rock.

I'm looking for a project boat and i want to use the laser V hull, i think the Laser bass boats were like 17'6" as opposed to the 380 ray which was longer. I want the shorter V hull like the Laser bass boat used, or if Starcraft made one similiar that would work too. If anybody that was commenting on this thread has any info on where one is for sale please PM me, thanks.
